No Illusions morning.

Hi all, I just wanted to say I’m almost finished with book two! Woohoo!

I hit a snag in the story, but basically, yeah, draft one is done. So I’m doing a little snoopy dance. Now for the hard part: revisions.

In the meantime, I’m over at our fellow FF&Per Marsha A. Moore’s blog today.

Talking about my latest paranormal fantasy novel. Please do drop by if you get a chance.

Starry day…another guest post

Coffee mugs cups by Jon Sullivan

Good morning, all. Do y’all have some good coffee, I hope? I’m just getting mine. Hoping it’s not going to rain much today but it’s looking like it. :) Well, it will make the plants happy, won’t it?  That’s okay. I’m doing a little blog switch today. I’m hosting author Lynda K. Scott (see below), and meanwhile, I’m guesting over at her blog, Starcrossed Romance. So, if you’d like to stop by and see what I came up with this time, ;) you’re always welcome. The post is up here.

I hope you like it. Have a great day!

Off visiting again and an announcement.

"Washing Plates As Part Of The House Work" by Stuart Miles

Well, we got that darned sink fixed–yahoo! It’s all nice and new and shiny. I don’t want to say it’s been a mesmerizing addition to our home but, yeah. It makes me smile every time I walk into the kitchen.

*innocent look* (Yes, distracted by shiny things, that’s me–lol) Yes! I can wash dishes again. Wait. Maybe that’s not such a good thing.

I did manage to get some writing done, oh, and something useful. I went over to Amazon and Smashwords and dropped the price of The Artist’s Inheritance to a mere $1.99. So if you’d like to try it, now’s the time!

Meanwhile, I am being interviewed over at Independent Paranormal today. :) Please stop by and say hi.

Visiting again today, and flowers

Hey everyone. I hope you’re having a good Friday. I had lunch with my friend and fellow author Marsha A. Moore, got to show her around my garden. :) Identified some plants I’d been wondering about. Have I shown these? No, I don’t guess I have, have I?

Pink!Yeah, I know some of them look very dead but… those were from the day before–before those extra six popped out. (I almost wonder if they’re not spawns of the Audrey 2 ;) ). But wow, huh? So pretty!

So it was a very good day. :)

In and around that, I had a guest post to attend to today at Patty G. Henderson’s blog The Henderson Files. I wrote a little about a subject that …well, tends to hit all of us writers once in a while….well,I don’t want to spoil the post. You’ll just have to go see it for yourself, should you wish to. It’s up here.

Something clever here–and a guest post

A couple things, one: I haz a pretty new cover. Did you see?

Awesome, eh?

Well, I have no clever, witty words yet this morning, as coffee hasn’t kicked in. But I wanted to say I’m guest posting today over at Amie Louellen’s blog today, so do what she says: Live, Love, and be happy!

Oh, yes, and go see my guest post, here. :) *waves* to Amie. I will get you over here one day, sister, to. Until then, have a good morning, and me, I’m loping over to the coffee pot!

Now, the sample:

Caitlin walked into the Bean on Tyme Café and found Beryl working behind the counter. Her friend left her station, and hugged her in greeting. “Wait! I have just the thing for you.”

She slipped back to the coffee machines and poured a steaming cup of something; she also opened the goodies cabinet and pulled forth a slice of rich carrot cake. She carried it to a nearby table and Caitlin followed. “Not your traditional lunch, but I hope it will suffice.”

“It’s perfect,” Caitlin said, sampling the sweet carrot cake.

“Good. I won’t lie and say it’s my recipe, but I’ll take whatever credit you wish to give.”

Caitlin giggled and sampled the tea. The strong scent of cinnamon and apple filled her nose.

“Now,” Beryl said. “Stop beating around the mulberry bush. Tell me what’s happened.”

“Nothing’s happened.” She set the delicate teacup aside gingerly. “Trevor is spending all his time with his store—when he’s not hard at work in the attic.”

“I see.” Beryl laced her fingers together and rested her chin on them. “Any more new chairs?”

Caitlin spun the spoon inside her cup. “Half dozen.”

“Oh, dear.”

She sipped again and collapsed against the seat, weariness stealing over her. “I guess it’s not so bad. He could have three dozen more. I guess the store gives him more to obsess over. What about this woman you mentioned?”

Beryl looked around the café, and lowered her voice. “It’s a ghost, or in your family’s case, it could be a banshee.”

Gwrach y rhibyn.” The thought of the ghostly woman in question made Caitlin shudder.

Beryl nodded. “By whatever name, they’re never good.”

Caitlin remained silent, waiting for her friend to fill in the blank she already guessed at.

“Her appearance to someone usually means a death’s about to occur. Let me venture a guess: your family has a strange history.”

Caitlin’s hand shook. She stabbed a bit too hard at her slice of cake. “You have no idea. Trevor . . . He’s going to die, isn’t he?”

“Oh, sweetie, no.” Beryl laid a hand over hers. “Not if I can help it. What about your friend and mine, Mr. Hofter?”

The Secret of Lighthouse Pointe by Patty G. Henderson

I don’t usually post my reviews here, but since Patty’s to be my guest today, I thought I’d break with tradition–again. :)

The Secret of Lighthouse Pointe

In Indie supernatural suspense author Patty G. Henderson’s recent title The Secret of Lighthouse Pointe, she delves into a somewhat new form, a Lesbian Gothic Romantic Suspense. She sets her heroine in the time of the War of 1812. Desperate after losing her job as a milliner, Constance Beechum considers suicide a viable alternative.

Until she receives a letter from her uncle asking her to become caretaker of a dying woman in Castine, Maine. She immediately packs what little she owns and moves to Maine. Here, she meets the woman’s strange family, Roger, Edward and Catherine Gerard. There’s something weird about all of them; the dying Elizabeth seems to be the only normal one in the bunch. And then there’s the handsome, mysterious George Kane.

Constance doesn’t know what to make of any of her new acquaintances, but she knows to tread lightly, as both Edward and Roger want nothing more than to get her into their beds. She, however, wants neither of them. More importantly, the men are waiting for their aged, infirm mother to die so they can get their hands on a great treasure, supposedly discovered by their grandfather in the early 1700s. Constance must tread lightly and do the best she can to ease Elizabeth’s final days. But what are those strange lights she’s seeing from the nearby lighthouse, who are the hooded men she’s seen in the hallway and outside, in town; and why does she find George Kane so appealing? Odd that, when she doesn’t usually go for his type.

You’ll have to read to find out!

Yes, Ms. Henderson experimented with a new form in her The Secret of Lighthouse Pointe, harkening back to the Gothics of the 60s and 70s, but her usual hallmarks are here. If you enjoyed her Brenda Strange novels, I think you will enjoy this too. I did. If you’d like to give it a try it’s available at Amazon for Kindle and Paperback,  and also for Epub through Lulu.com.

Also, while we have your attention, I interviewed Patty recently. Don’t miss the Q and A, here.
