Beastie Boys….

I guess by now you’ve heard the news. The beastie boys founding member Adam Youch, passed away due to cancer…

Sabotage and all the rest has been playing around here since we heard. *sniff*

Adam was talented, smart, and  of course, conscientious with all his support of the Dalai Lama. An all around  great guy, from everything I’ve read. Hubby’s been a fan of their music for years, so we play their music a lot–especially the last few days. Freakin’ cancer, man. Enough, already! We’ve lost too many to it.

Adam, you  will be missed by many a fan.

Geek alert

So… I was just signing in to my internet and reading an article about Etta James’ (RIP) and found this poll on MSN’s main page.

It says,  Who Is The Greatest Female Singer of the Past 100 Years? There are the usual suspects, Celine Dion, Joni Mitchell. Music lover me, I was pleased to see Patsy Cline made the list…but…what really blew my mind and caused this fangirl geek alert? Ann Wilson of Heart. That’s right *the* Ann Wilson…. The gal I wanted to be when I grew up. (and if I can make a little confession, I had for a miniscule second a band rehearsal or two where I rocked a cover of “Barracuda”, and tried not to mangle “Love Alive”. ) *insert Wayne’s World bows here*
